Amenities

The King and Bear Community is fortunate to have a wide variety of amenities and activities that are available to both owners and residents. The five thousand square feet fitness center was completed in the Fall of 2018. The facility contains the latest in work-out equipment and has a designated weight training area. There is also a separate studio that accommodates an array of fitness classes.

The recently renovated Courtside Pavilion at the Amenity Center is a large versatile space perfect for group parties, events, and meetings. There is also a separate building, and an outside area called the Poolside Pavilion. This space is more intimate, designed for smaller groups, and comes with a covered terrace ideal for outside socializing. There are outdoor tables and chairs with grills to use. Given its name, it sits adjacent to the community’s two pools. One is a zero-entry kiddie pool, the other is an Olympic-sized pool, perfect for laps. The lap pool is heated (in winter), and both are fully lit and open into the night. Adjacent to the pools is a new, adventurous playground area for the kids.

There is a variety of recreational facilities including three lighted tennis courts and four lighted pickleball courts which can accommodate plenty of players. Less than a mile down the road in the neighborhood is an area called Heritage Park. Under a canopy of majestic oaks, it is a tranquil spot to enjoy. Here you will find a basketball court, soccer goals, volleyball net, swings, a small merry-go-round, and plenty of space for the children to run around. Across the street from the Amenity Center is the King and Bear Golf course and restaurant, both open to the public. Also available to K&B residents is The Neighborhood’s Recreational Park, located two miles outside the gates on International Golf Parkway. The park has grass fields for soccer, football, and baseball, along with two pickleball courts and a dog park.

Some of the favorite annual events include the Fall Funfest, spring and fall community-wide garage sales and food and toy donation drives. There are many clubs, fitness classes, water aerobics, tennis and pickleball groups and even food truck Fridays. There are also several HOA committees with volunteers who help with social activities, recreation and communication of events.
